Midlands 3 West outfit Eccleshall Rugby Club has named its new first team captain for 2020/21 campaign.
Back rower Zac Chadwick steps into the role, succeeding James Denning who steps down as skipper after three years of leading the team.
Chadwick has represented Staffordshire’s county side and has also captained the Midlands at “age grade level,” joining Eccleshall in 2017.
A spokesperson for the club stated: “Eccleshall RUFC are pleased to confirm that Zac Chadwick will be our 1 XV captain for the 2020/21 season.
“Zac is a combative back rower, also comfortable in the second row, who definitely leads from the front.
“While we may not know when the 2020/21 season will start, we do know that Zac and Coach Steve Dolphin will ensure that ERUFC will be ready for another Midlands 3 West league campaign.”
Eccleshall eventually finished 9th in the table last season after places were decided by a “best playing record formula” following the RFU’s decision to cancel the remainder of the season amid the coronavirus outbreak.
